The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation's Junior Ambassadors, a group of exceptional students from Foley and Elberta High Schools, participated in a financial readiness workshop at Foley High School.
Alex Sweeney, SBCF Board Member and Vice President of Commercial Lending at SouthState Bank, led a presentation about financial preparedness, where they discussed smart spending, budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management, all in preparation for setting individual financial goals.
Coastal Alabama Community College's Adult Education & Workforce Development Team, in partnership with Truist Bank, presented and played the "Game of Life" with the students, teaching them about the real costs associated with different aspects of life - including house payments, grocery bills, daycare fees, transportation costs, and more! Students had to make financial decisions based on "real life scenarios" that were presented to each of them.
Financial readiness workshops enable students to gain practical knowledge about money, make informed choices about their futures, and build confidence to manage their finances effectively.
