Junior
Ambassadors
Leadership, Experience, and Impact
The Junior Ambassadors (JA) program is a transformative initiative designed to empower high school juniors from Elberta and Foley to excel through comprehensive Leadership Development. Students strengthen their personal leadership skills through targeted workshops, mentoring, and hands-on experiences that encourage growth, confidence, and teamwork. This initiative provides invaluable Real-World Experience through field trips, panel discussions, and direct interactions with local business and government leaders, preparing students for future careers and civic responsibility. Furthermore, through active Community Engagement, participants connect with civic leaders and participate in service projects to gain a deeper understanding of their role in shaping a stronger community.
Since 1998, more than 400 students have graduated from the program. Each spring, rising juniors from Elberta and Foley High Schools apply, and finalists are selected through panel interviews with community leaders. This unique process not only identifies the next JA class but also equips students with essential interview and communication skills they can carry into college, careers, and beyond.
