Walk This Way: Mixtapes & Rollerskates is a high-energy, 80s-themed walking parade designed to bring adults together for a night of nostalgia, music, and community celebration — all while raising funds to support local education. ​This 18+ event blends parade fun with a throwback street party, featuring big hair, leg warmers, windbreakers, mixtapes, and all things totally tubular.

 

The Experience

Participants will walk approximately 0.80 miles through Downtown Foley dressed in their best 80s gear — roller skates, skateboards, bright colors, and outrageous retro style encouraged!

As walkers roll through downtown, the community is invited to line the sidewalks and cheer them on as the streets come alive with music, costumes, and plenty of 80s nostalgia.

Participants are encouraged to throw candy and fun 80s-themed goodies to the crowd as they parade through downtown, making it a fun experience for everyone watching.

Each registered participant receives:

• An All Access Pass Punch Card

• Entry to the Downtown Block Party

 

Your All Access Pass does double duty! It serves as your entry into the block party and your punch card for visiting participating downtown restaurants and bars throughout the evening.

Stop by participating locations, grab a drink or bite, and collect punches along the way.

 

Participants who complete their punch cards will be entered into a prize drawing at the end of the night!

 

The After Party

The night wraps up with an epic Downtown Block Party featuring a live 80s cover band, Disco Kiss, turning the finish line into a full-scale throwback celebration with music, dancing, and nonstop fun.
