The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation’s (SBCF) Junior Ambassadors dedicated their monthly meeting to a crucial financial readiness workshop.
The day kicked off with an immersive and challenging "Game of Life" simulation, hosted this year by the SBCF. This vital, hands-on activity gave students an immediate taste of adult financial responsibilities.

Working with assigned careers and incomes, the students had to navigate a series of "real-life scenarios" and make quick decisions about various expenses, including:
House Payments
Transportation Costs
Grocery Bills
Daycare Fees
The simulation offered a revealing glimpse into the true cost of living, compelling the Junior Ambassadors to budget, prioritize, and manage their finances under pressure.
Following the high-energy simulation, SBCF Board Member and Vice President of Commercial Lending at SouthState Bank, Alex Sweeney, led an insightful presentation to solidify the students' practical learning.

Alex's session focused on turning the lessons learned in the game into long-term financial habits. Key topics covered included:
Banking Essentials
Credit Responsibly & Facts
Smart Spending and Budgeting
Debt Management
Saving and Investing
This expert guidance was designed to help the students move from theory to action, preparing them to set and achieve their individual financial goals.
Whether it's the high-stakes simulation or the strategic advice, these financial readiness workshops are essential. They empower students to gain practical knowledge, make informed choices about their futures, and build the confidence necessary to effectively manage their personal finances.
