At the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation, we believe that confidence can make all the difference in a student’s academic journey. That’s why we’re proud to support two important student success initiatives in our community, Mane Event at Foley Middle School for rising 7th graders, and Camp Lion Pride at Foley High School for incoming 9th graders.

Each program offers a full-day kickoff at the beginning of the school year, designed to help students confidently navigate the changes that come with entering a new school. From learning how to find their classes to understanding academic expectations, students also connect with designated peer helpers and counselors who provide ongoing one-on-one mentorship throughout the year.

The impact is clear: students begin their middle and high school years with a greater sense of stability and security, attendance and academic performance improve, discipline referrals drop, and they feel more at ease in both academic and social settings.

To help make these days special, the Chamber Foundation provides snacks, drinks, and gift card giveaways for participating students. These simple touches not only make the day more fun but also show students that their community is behind them, cheering them on as they lay the foundation for a successful school journey.
Programs like Mane Event and Camp Lion Pride help ensure students step into their new schools prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.
