FOLEY, AL – The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation is turning up the energy this fall with the launch of two brand-new signature fundraising events: the Foundation Paddle Classic and Walk This Way: 80s 5K & Block Party. Both events offer the local community and area businesses unique ways to get active, have fun, and make a direct impact on local education initiatives.
Proceeds from both events will directly support students and teachers across South Baldwin County, providing vital resources, enrichment programs, and educational grants.
The excitement kicks off on August 22, 2026, with the Foundation Paddle Classic, presented by Vulcan, Inc. This premier, one-day gender doubles pickleball tournament is designed for players of all skill levels—from true beginners to advanced competitors.
Hosted in a round-robin stage followed by a playoff bracket, the tournament guarantees a fantastic day of community competition, courtside fun, and networking. Entry is $40 per player.
Later this fall, get ready to grab your neon, tease your hair, and break out the leg warmers because Walk This Way: 80’s 5K & Block Party, sponsored by Baldwin County Sewer Service, is bringing the ultimate throwback experience to Downtown Foley! On Saturday, September 12, 2026, participants will take on a scenic 5K course winding through Historic Downtown Foley and the beautiful Rose Trail before crossing the finish line at Heritage Park.
Following the race, Heritage Park transforms into the ultimate 80s celebration, with an epic Block Party featuring a live 80s cover band, Disco Kiss, and special guest 80's Condo Queen Kylee Kubat, turning the finish line into a full-scale throwback with music, dancing, and nonstop fun. Bring your friends, relive the glory days, and celebrate under the lights as we turn Heritage Park into a retro party destination.
